Prior to successful release closure, all impacted technology configuration items must be reviewed to validate if the changes are reflected. The Configuration Management Database must be updated with the details of these technology configuration items that are newly added or modified as part of each release.

Configuration audits must be conducted to ensure:

• All the release components are reviewed and baselined
• Release Note contains all required information
• Test results are recorded
• Test defects are closed
• All release components are available under appropriate folders in the configuration library etc.

A Configuration Management Database Verification Report must be prepared, which would contain the details of the verification checks done on the tested Release Package.
